Mapped Water Infrastructure

The Upper Kaleya Sub-Catchment has several water infrastructure which include weirs, storage reservoirs, Earth reservoirs. The Reservoirs are mainly used for Irrigation and live stock activities. Much of the water infrastructure based on the rapid water assessment studies conducted show that a number of hydraulic structures exist on the middle sub-basin (Avillion Weir Sub-Basin) of the Upper Kaleya Sub-Catchment. According to the water infrastructure mapping field activity, total of 42 water infrastructure were identified and mapped and Bathymetric surveys between during the month of December, 2018 by WARMA Team. Attached are also some of the research findings of the bathymetric survey conducted by UNZA research team under the supervision of Dr. H. Sichingabula.
